BERNARD MWAURA CHEGE – MANAGING PARTNER

He is Managing Partner of the firm and the partner in charge of the litigation department of the firm. He is also a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the roll of Advocates on the 5th December 1996.

His areas of specialization include Civil Litigation, Labour Law, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

His educational background

Mr. Mwaura received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi in the month of December 1995 followed by a postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law in 1996.

(ii)         JOHN IRUNGU WACHIRA –PARTNER

One of the shareholder partners in the firm, John Irungu Wachira is a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the roll of Advocates on the 5th December 1996.

His core area of practice is commercial law which area includes Conveyance, Intellectual Property, Environmental Law, Business/Corporate and Bank Securities. Besides being the Managing Partner of the firm, he is also the partner in charge of the firm’s Commercial Law department.

His educational background

Mr. Wachira received his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi in the month of December 1995 followed by a postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law in 1996. He is also a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) having qualified in 1998.

(iii)        LEONARD OBURA ALOO - PARTNER

He is also a Partner in the firm having joined in May 2006 from Telkom Kenya Limited where he had been working for the past five years as an Assistant Legal Manager. He is also a practicing Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having been admitted to the roll of Advocates on the 5th December 1996.

His areas of specialization include Commercial Law, Civil Litigation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Negotiating and Drafting International and Local contracts.

He is also a lecturer in the Department of Private Law University of Nairobi and teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution (LL.B Course) and International Commercial Arbitration (LL.M Course).

His educational background

Mr. Aloo received his Bachelor of Law degree from theUniversity of Nairobi in the month of December 1995 followed by a postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law in 1996. He subsequently proceeded for and completed his Masters Degree in Commercial Law at the University of Cape Town South Africa between the years 1998-1999. He has also done a number of courses as are specified in his individual curriculum vitae attached hereto.

(iv)        JOSEPHINE WANJIRU GACHURU

She is an Advocate in the firm having being admitted to the Roll of Advocates on the 10th March 2015. Her duties in the firm include drafting legal documents, legal research, attending Court, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Courts and registries. She is an Associate Advocate in the Litigation department.

(v)        JOYCE  KHOYO NYAGOL

She is an Advocate in the firm having been admitted to the Roll of Advocates on the 18th January 2016. Her duties in the firm include drafting Conveyance and commercial law documents, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Court and Land registries. She is an Associate Advocate in the Conveyance department.

(vi)        MILLER AWACH

He is a Law graduate from the University of Nairobi awaiting admission to the Bar of Advocates. His duties in the firm include drafting legal documents, legal research, attending Court to take notes, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Court and Land registries.

(vii)       BENAH NICOLE MUKOBI

She is a Law graduate from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa studying for her Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law. Her duties in the firm include drafting legal documents, legal research, attending Court to take notes, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Court and Land registries.

(viii)      STELLAH VARINE KIPSURA

She is a Law graduate from the Moi University studying for her Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law. Her duties in the firm include drafting legal documents, legal research, attending Court to take notes, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Court and Land registries.

(ix)        SAMSON MACHARIA KAMIRU

He is a Law graduate from the Mount Kenya University studying for his Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law. His duties in the firm include drafting legal documents, legal research, attending Court to take notes, attending to the firm’s clients and attending to the firm’s matters in the various Court and Land registries.

(x)        VIRGINIA NYOKABI NG’ETHE

She is the firm’s office administrator and is a holder of a diploma in secretarial studies from St. Joseph’s Training Centre in Nairobi and a Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Cambridge. She has worked with the present firm of Advocates since January 1998 and is well versed with the structure and day-to-day running of the firm.

(xi)        SALOME WALUMBE

She is the firm’s secretary who works under the Partners. She assists clients, makes calls and books appointments as well as handle any queries made by clients.  She also assists the Administrator in the day to day running of the firm.

(xii)       HENRY OBUMBI OPIYO

He is the firm’s Conveyance Clerk and has worked with the firm for the past Eleven (11) years. His duties include assessment and registration of various documents at the Lands and Companies registries. He also well versed with the various Court registries, and also does attend to the filing and serving of court documents, amongst other documents.

(xiii)      JACOB MUTEMI MATI

He is the firm’s office assistant and his duties include delivery of office mail to various clients, assist in office duties e.g. binding, making photocopies and any attending to any other assignments given. He also assists in the filing and service of court documents, amongst others.

(xiv)      JOHN KILONZO

He is the firm’s Court Clerk well versed with the various Court registries. He attends to the filing and service of various documents as well as perusals of Court files.
